Business Name Optimization

The following steps are very straightforward but also very important, particularly if you have a new site and need to get it showing up in Google when people search for your business!

See below for these quick steps…

Make sure your business name is in your page titles.

As in this screeshot, you can check your home page page title by simply mousing over the top tab of your browser:

There are a couple of other considerations here:

  • Make sure your business naming is done consistently everywhere on your site as well as conistent with your business listings.
  • Because of the length limitations, you might not have your full business name on the page titles on every page if you are also optimizing them for keywords. That said, try to make sure your home page DOES have the full business name.

Your Footer

On your website footer, make sure to include your full business name, usually in the copyright statement as pictured here:

As well, if you serve customers at your place of business, it doesn’t hurt to add a block to your footer including:

  • Full business name
  • Address
  • Phone number

Your Contact Page

As well as your business name, hours, address, phone number and any other contact options, it’s also helpful to embed your Google Business Profile right on the contact page. Many sites embed a Google Map with their address highlighted, but embedding the Google Business Profile instead is better as it helps confirm for Google that the site is related to the Profile.
